Carpooling usually sounds so formal, most people carpool without even thinking about it.  Maybe you and a friend share a ride to a party or maybe you pick your mom up on the way to the store so she doesn’t have to make a special trip, well that’s carpooling.  How about carpooling as partly organized and partly social?  There’s a social networking website called PickUpPal where you can organize a carpool in your area.  It can be as formal as a schedule with notifications emailed to everyone to sending out an alert to some participants on an adhoc basis. You can set it up for work, school, team practices and games as well as social events.
